Recently, MPD was proud to assist in escorting the Barre - Berlin - Montpelier - Middlesex leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics to support Special Olympics Vermont.
The annual torch run is a series of relay style running events. Local law enforcement and public safety agencies carry the torches through their communities to raise awareness for Special Olympics.
Torches make their way from the four corners of Vermont to South Burlington, where they are escorted into the opening ceremonies of the summer games.
